Hi! My name is Lisa, and I created Spending Profile. I created it because I realized I didn't know where my money was going. In fact, I had no idea how much I spent each month, let alone where I spent it!
This, I decided, was not acceptable. How could I plan for my future and plan my investments when I didn't even know what I could afford on a day-to-day basis?
This was the origin of Spending Profile.

This was the origin of Spending Profile. Being a computer science graduate, I decided to create a website to track my finances exactly how I wanted. It had to be easy to use, and of course online so that I could use it from anywhere, anytime.
I decided to open it up to the public, and received a very positive response. In fact, the suggestions and feature requests soon became too much for me to maintain alone. So in late 2007 the Spending Profile became an open source project. It is now developed by a team of wonderful volunteers. You can read about them on this page! Thanks to their commitment and hard work, Spending Profile has been improved many fold, and continues to grow and evolve with every new release. You can find out more about the project

Despite my software development background (mostly on government teams), I've really taken a liking to web and multimedia design.

I worked with Lisa for quite a while to come up with a fresh new design that would suit her requirements and present a clean user friendly interface. I think we've succeeded. There's more to do, but one step a time...

Responsible for architecting the client and server side of Spending Profile. Since I happen to be married to the project coordinator, I'm ofton summoned to take on small tasks such as architecting and implementing the core framework (!), of course within a very flexable time line, "Now"!!!! But seriously I enjoy working on this project very much.
